Yes they do. The cost is reasonable. The work is generally not as good as a “real tech.” Guitar Center’s techs are minimally trained and do a lot of learning on-the-job. GC will back up their work to a degree, but it takes a long time, and the results will rarely be as good as a reputable local technician or luthier.
A PC can be used as a guitar amp by installing an amp sim (guitar amp simulator). Then, connect your guitar to an audio interface input, and the audio interface via USB to the PC running the amp sim. Finally, connect speakers or headphones to the audio interface output, for a working guitar amp.
