Jimi Hendrix (1942–1970), known for developing blues in a modern context, Hendrix’s main stage guitar through most of his short career was a Fender Stratocaster. In 1990, the white Stratocaster used by Hendrix at the 1969 Woodstock Festival sold in a Sotheby’s auction for $270,000, a record price at the time.
A 00 has the same depth as a 000, but the slightly smaller top brings all the frets a little closer to the body. They are ideal for smaller guitarists, or people who want a petite playmate for their larger guitars. But make no mistake; these are fully-realized musical instruments and sound like it.
To check nut-slot height, hold the string down at the third fret, and see how much it moves over the first fret. This is similar to checking neck relief, but the string should move much less.
This feedback occurs because that high-pitched sound is caught in a loop getting amplified and fed back through the guitar over and over again. Most amplifiers have at least a simple EQ built into them. If you can turn down the high frequencies, this will affect this feedback loop.
