They are great for the price. I have played my Martinez S80 for almost 4 years now, and I love it. It is a guitar designed for intermediate players but I’ve found it to be relatively easy to play technically hard repertoire.

By definition you can’t practice electric guitar with an acoustic guitar. However, practicing on a steel string acoustic guitar (especially one with really light strings on it), is probably the CLOSEST you’re going to get to playing an electric guitar without actually playing one.
