It is nice and compact, making it very easy to carry around. It comes with a nice gig bag and strap. It’s not as loud as a full-size acoustic and does not have as rich of a sound as a full-size acoustic but that is to be somewhat expected given the scaled down size of the backpacker.

Portable tone. Here is a really nice Martin Backpacker acoustic-electric guitar with a pickup and equalizer. I just put new strings on it (changed from the photos) and it sounds great unplugged or through the amp.
